In Ethiopia, FHI 360’s Crisis Response team supports conflict-affected populations across Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Somali, and Oromia regions, partnering with local organizations such as Pastoralist Concern (PC).


πŸ“Œ Job Summary

The Health & Nutrition Assistant will work under the supervision of the Health & Nutrition Officer to support nutrition activities in FHI 360 program areas. The role involves technical guidance, data collection, case management, and community nutrition services, ensuring programs adhere to international standards.


πŸ”‘ Key Responsibilities

  • Support program implementation to achieve health and nutrition objectives and targets.
  • Assist in data collection and coordination for nutrition staff and program reporting.
  • Support the admission and treatment of severely malnourished patients, including inpatient care and follow-ups.
  • Conduct home visits to ensure adherence to nutrition programs.
  • Support growth monitoring and ensure malnourished children have updated health cards.
  • Maintain food supplements and therapeutic milk preparation areas clean, safe, and contamination-free.
  • Prepare and submit nutrition reports for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Assist in training staff and preparing training materials for field locations.
  • Support mobile medical units and static facilities in nutrition services.
  • Provide regular updates on inventory and PHC service quality improvements.
  • Undertake other tasks assigned by supervisors.

πŸŽ“ Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of administrative or technical experience supporting nutrition or health projects.
  • Prior experience with NGOs preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in data collection, reporting, and basic analysis.
