About the Role

The National Trade Marketing Manager will define, guide, and control the national commercial strategy in collaboration with the Sales Director. Acting as the key link between Sales leadership and the Marketing department, the role is critical in shaping commercial priorities, measuring KPIs, and ensuring the perfect execution of business strategies.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define sustainable brand strategies focusing on RTM, portfolio, visibility, activations, logistics, and innovation.
  • Influence cross‑functional areas including commerce, procurement, finance, and capabilities.

Market Research & Competitive Benchmarking

  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking against competitors.
  • Gather customer insights through research, data analysis, and trade visits.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer during product development and execution.

Channel Strategy & PICOS

  • Define channel strategies based on market and consumer insights.
  • Develop and deploy PICOS materials on time.

Budget Management

  • Manage a budget exceeding 500 million ETB.
  • Make high‑level commercial strategy decisions with Sales and Marketing leadership.

Project Execution & Management

  • Design strategies to attract, develop, and retain customers.
  • Collaborate with global teams to deploy POSM materials.
  • Track KPIs including brand volume, revenue, and brand power.
  • Support flagship projects and event activities.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead a team of 10+ managers to ensure execution excellence.
  • Align commercial teams (Sales, Marketing, Trade Marketing).
  • Ensure planning during SP, ICP, AP, and business review cycles.

Qualifications

  • Education: BSc/BA in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Humanities, or related fields
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 7 years in sales/trade marketing management
    • Experience in international, modern companies preferred
    • Proven channel marketing and retail program development experience
    • Background in Sales highly recommended
