Humanity & Inclusion Ethiopia 2026 Job Vacancy – Information Management Officer
Etcareers is featuring a 2026 career opportunity with Humanity & Inclusion (HI), also known as Handicap International, for the role of Information Management Officer. This contract position is based at the Ethiopian Mine Action Office (EMAO) in Entoto, Addis Ababa, with travel to regions as required. The role is designed for mid‑level professionals with 3–5 years of experience in information management, GIS, or data science. With a fixed‑term duration of 3.5 months and the possibility of extension, this opportunity offers candidates the chance to contribute to humanitarian mine action efforts in Ethiopia.

Open Positions

Position 1: Information Management Officer

  • Employment Type: Contract (Fixed‑term, 3.5 months with possibility of extension)
  • Job Location: Entoto, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (with regional travel as required)

Responsibilities

  • Develop inception and implementation workplans with measurable indicators
  • Deliver capacity‑building workshops for headquarters and field teams
  • Strengthen digital data collection processes using mobile tools
  • Standardize data collection forms and workflows
  • Establish QA/QC mechanisms for data management
  • Ensure compliance with IMAS 05.10 and inclusive data practices
  • Support IMSMA Core transition and dashboard development
  • Provide GIS technical support for operational planning and reporting
  • Coordinate with GICHD and external partners for alignment and reporting

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, GIS, Information Management, or related field
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years in humanitarian or mine action information management
  • Technical Skills: Experience with IMSMA (including IMSMA Core), ArcGIS Enterprise, mobile data collection tools (Survey123, XLSForm/ODK), relational databases, and geodata management
  • Soft Skills: Strong judgment, teamwork, communication, conflict management, and knowledge‑sharing abilities

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

  • Proven experience in national capacity development initiatives
  • Ability to apply GIS in mine action field operations
  • Familiarity with international humanitarian coordination frameworks
