Humanity & Inclusion Intern Physiotherapist Vacancy 2026 – Fresh Graduate
Handicap InternationalHumanity & Inclusion (HI), the brand name of Handicap International, is offering an Intern Physiotherapist opportunity for a fresh 2026 BSc Physiotherapy graduate in Ethiopia.
The internship is designed to support newly graduated physiotherapists in transitioning into clinical practice through supervised practical experience in rehabilitation services.
The internship will be hosted at Degehabur General Hospital, where the intern will gain practical experience in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation setting while supporting improved access to rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities and individuals with functional limitations.

Eligibility and Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a BSc in Physiotherapy from a recognized university.
- Be a fresh graduate who completed their degree in 2026.
- Be willing and able to work in remote locations.
- Have strong communication and reporting skills.
- Have good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrate commitment to humanitarian principles and HI's mandate.
- Have strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
- Be proactive, hardworking, conscientious, and well organized.
- Demonstrate resilience to stress.
- Be able to work under pressure with a high level of personal organization and flexibility.
- Be willing to travel frequently to field target areas, including Woredas and Kebeles.
Important: This internship is open only to fresh graduates. Candidates who are not fresh graduates are requested not to apply.
Internship Experience
The Intern Physiotherapist will gain supervised practical experience in:
- Rehabilitation service delivery.
- Clinical practice within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation setting.
- Supporting rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities and individuals with functional limitations.
- Working with experienced rehabilitation professionals through technical supervision and mentorship.
- Developing clinical competencies and professional skills.
- Supporting access to quality rehabilitation services.
Internship Support and Benefits
During the internship period, Humanity & Inclusion will provide:
- Daily allowance: ETB 1,000.
- Transport allowance: ETB 8,800.
- Communication allowance: ETB 4,400.
- Allowances are subject to applicable Ethiopian tax regulations.
- Transportation from Addis Ababa to the duty station at the beginning of the internship and return transportation to Addis Ababa after completion of the assignment, subject to completion of the full internship period and supervisor approval.
- Group Yearly Renewable Term Life (GYRT) insurance coverage for work-related accidents, in accordance with HI policies.
- Accommodation provided by Degehabur General Hospital (DGH).
- Continuous technical supervision and mentorship from experienced rehabilitation professionals.
- Practical experience in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation environment serving diverse populations.
Internship Contract Note: Severance pay, compensation, and reinstatement do not apply to the internship contract.
