💼 Job Purpose
The Health Field Officer 2 contributes to implementing, running, and monitoring health programs in cooperation with the health team. The role requires autonomy in overseeing health activities, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring improved access to health services in the assigned geographic area.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Implement health programs within the assigned geographic area.
- Assist in designing operational strategies and planning health programs.
- Conduct assessments and regular field visits to monitor activities and health threats.
- Manage health information and reporting in line with ICRC guidelines.
- Liaise with local stakeholders and represent ICRC with national authorities.
- Ensure donations of medical and non‑medical items are requested and delivered on time.
- Support improved access to health services and continuum of care.
- Collaborate with assistance and protection departments on cross‑cutting issues.
- Promote Health Care in Danger initiatives and report incidents.
- Provide support to health team members and cover gaps when needed.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Education: Degree in Medicine, Nursing, or Midwifery; public health or health management qualifications are an asset.

License: Valid license to practice in Ethiopia.

Experience: 3–5 years total work experience, including 2 years clinical experience and 2 years in the humanitarian sector.

Skills: Strong connections with local health authorities, excellent knowledge of Mekele and surrounding areas, ability to analyze health data and coordinate with stakeholders.

Languages: Fluency in English and Tigrigna; knowledge of Amharic is an advantage.
