Innovative Humanitarian Solutions (IHS), a non‑profit humanitarian organization dedicated to safeguarding the rights and well‑being of children, is announcing multiple job opportunities for 2026. The organization is seeking qualified candidates for positions in Afar Region (Abala, Yallo, Erebti, Megale, Kuneba, and Dallol). These full‑time roles include Senior Child Protection Officer, Child Protection Officer, Admin and Logistics Officer, and Assistant Finance Officer. Open Positions

Position 1: Senior Child Protection Officer

  • Employment Type: Full‑time
  • Job Location: Afar Region (Abala, Yallo, Erebti, Megale, Kuneba, and Dallol), Ethiopia
  • Career Level: Senior (5–8 years)
  • Number of Positions: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic direction and program design for child protection
  • Conduct contextual analyses and needs assessments
  • Establish technical standards, SOPs, and tools for case management
  • Provide technical oversight and review complex protection cases
  • Represent IHS in regional child protection coordination bodies
  • Build partnerships with government ministries and lead advocacy initiatives
  • Mentor and manage child protection staff, ensuring accountability and professional development

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Advanced degree in Social Work, Psychology, International Law, Human Rights, or related fields
  • Minimum of 4 years (Master’s) or 6 years (Bachelor’s) in child protection programming
  • Expertise in systems strengthening, advocacy, and policy engagement
  • Strong leadership, representation, and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local context is an asset

Position 2: Child Protection Officer

  • Employment Type: Full‑time
  • Job Location: Afar Region (Abala, Yallo, Erebti, Megale, Kuneba, and Dallol), Ethiopia
  • Career Level: Mid‑Level (3–5 years)
  • Number of Positions: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Identify children at risk and provide psychosocial support
  • Manage referrals to specialized services and maintain case files
  • Facilitate community‑based child protection mechanisms
  • Conduct awareness sessions on child rights and protection risks
  • Train and mentor community volunteers and partner staff
  • Collaborate with other sectors to integrate child protection principles
  • Monitor and report on child protection trends and service gaps

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Law, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years (Master’s) or 4 years (Bachelor’s) in child protection, preferably in NGO/humanitarian settings
  • Strong understanding of child rights and protection standards
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local context is an asset

Position 3: Admin and Logistics Officer

  • Employment Type: Full‑time
  • Job Location: Afar Region (Abala, Yallo, Erebti, Megale, Kuneba, and Dallol), Ethiopia
  • Career Level: Mid‑Level (3–5 years)

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate procurement, storage, and distribution of goods
  • Manage transportation of staff, goods, and equipment
  • Maintain accurate inventories and asset registration
  • Oversee office administration, facilities, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with donor and organizational requirements
  • Prepare logistics and administrative reports
  • Safeguard organizational assets and support safety procedures

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years (Master’s) or 4 years (Bachelor’s) in logistics, administration, or operations
  • Experience in procurement, inventory, and asset management
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Email)

Position 4: Assistant Finance Officer

  • Employment Type: Full‑time
  • Job Location: Afar Region (Abala, Yallo, Erebti, Megale, Kuneba, and Dallol), Ethiopia
  • Career Level: Mid‑Level (3–5 years)
  • Number of Positions: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Record financial transactions and maintain documentation
  • Prepare payment vouchers and monthly financial reports
  • Manage cash handling, disbursements, and petty cash
  • Handle bank deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with donor rules and Ethiopian regulations
  • Support audits and maintain internal controls
  • Provide finance support to field operations

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years (Master’s) or 4 years (Bachelor’s) in finance or accounting roles
  • Experience with NGOs or donor‑funded programs preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Peachtree, QuickBooks)
  • Strong integrity, attention to detail, and accountability
