Position Summary

PIN Ethiopia is seeking a female IT Intern to join our IT Department in Hawassa. This internship offers hands-on experience in IT support, networking, and helpdesk operations, with opportunities for professional growth through training and mentorship.


Key Responsibilities

Client Stations

  • Install and configure operating systems and PIN-approved software
  • Apply software and security updates
  • Set up user profiles according to PIN policies
  • Connect client stations to shared resources (printers, disks, etc.)
  • Monitor and maintain laptops, desktops, and other IT assets

Helpdesk Support

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues (printers, scanners, faxes, etc.)
  • Escalate advanced issues to IT Officers
  • Prioritize and resolve helpdesk tickets
  • Set up staff emails and logins

Networking

  • Configure and maintain LAN and wireless networks with security best practices
  • Support advanced network design in consultation with line managers

General Duties

  • Submit regular reports to line manager
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with PIN IT policies
  • Ensure proper handling of entrusted assets and materials
  • Uphold PIN’s values of integrity, professionalism, and humanitarian service

Candidate Profile

  • Education: BA degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields (graduates of 2024 or 2025 E.C.)
  • Experience: No prior work experience required (entry-level)
  • Skills:
    • Basic computer skills (MS Office, email)
    • Operating system installation and updates
    • Network setup and security
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Language: Excellent spoken and written Amharic and English
  • Other Requirements:
    • Female candidates only
    • Strong judgment regarding confidentiality
    • Three professional references (will be cross-checked)
