Organizational Overview
FHI 360 is a nonprofit human development organization working to improve lives through integrated, locally driven solutions in health, education, nutrition, environment, economic development, civil society, gender, youth, and technology.
In Ethiopia, FHI 360’s Crisis Response team addresses humanitarian emergencies in Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Somali, and Oromia regions. In partnership with Pastoralist Concern (PC), FHI 360 is expanding operations in East Borena, Oromia, to deliver humanitarian relief in health, nutrition, WASH, and protection.
Position Summary
The Logistics Officer is responsible for managing fleet operations, procurement, warehousing, asset management, and general logistics support for FHI 360’s humanitarian programs. The role reports to the Regional Senior Logistics Officer and works closely with the Crisis Response Logistics Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supply Chain

Assist in procurement in line with FHI 360’s Procurement Handbook.

Liaise with suppliers for timely delivery of goods and resolve issues.

Prepare purchase requests, bid analysis, and payment requests.

Maintain accurate inventory and asset registers.

Coordinate procurement and warehousing data with field offices.
Warehouse & Stock Management

Support warehouse staff in stock management, recording, and reporting.

Conduct regular spot checks and periodic inventories.

Arrange transportation and ensure stock movement to field offices.

Ensure emergency fuel availability and timely reporting.
Fleet & Transportation
-
Manage vehicle allocation, driver supervision, and trip planning.

Oversee vehicle maintenance, spare parts, fuel, and logbooks.

Ensure compliance with FHI 360 fleet management standards.

Maintain accurate fleet records and reports for decision-making.
Asset & Equipment Management

Maintain updated fixed asset registers with tagging and coding.

Conduct regular asset inventories and condition reporting.

Ensure proper allocation, transfer, and disposal of assets per policy.

Support maintenance planning and ensure proper asset documentation.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.

Experience:
-
3–5 years of logistics and procurement experience.
-
Previous NGO/humanitarian sector experience strongly preferred.
-
Strong knowledge of procurement, warehousing, and fleet systems.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
-
Fluency in English and local language required.
