Its focus areas include access to primary health care, maternal health, sexual and reproductive health rights, protection against gender‑based violence, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), and malnutrition reduction.


Role Purpose

The Human Resources Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to ensure the effective functioning of the HR department. The role supports recruitment, onboarding, attendance and leave management, payroll preparation, personnel file management, and general HR administration in compliance with organizational policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in job postings, application management, interview coordination, contract filing, and onboarding documentation.
  • Personnel Records: Maintain digital and physical personnel files, HR trackers, and ensure confidentiality.
  • Attendance & Leave: Collect timesheets, update leave balances, manage attendance records, and prepare absenteeism summaries.
  • Payroll & Benefits: Compile payroll inputs, support pension registration, and manage insurance documentation.
  • Employee Lifecycle: Manage exit procedures, termination paperwork, and clearance processes.
  • HR Administration: Support performance management, training activities, and handle routine HR inquiries.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to HR policies, confidentiality, and organizational code of conduct.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Administration, Social Sciences, or related fields.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in HR or Administration (NGO experience preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and planning skills
    • Attention to detail and multitasking ability
    • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Knowledge of labour law and compliance requirements
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Amharic required; knowledge of additional local languages is an asset.
