About MSD:
Mahibere Hiwot for Social Development (MSD) is a non-profit civic society organization established in 1999 to combat HIV/AIDS and support socio-economic development across Ethiopia. MSD works in various sectors, including HIV prevention, care and support, orphan and vulnerable children (OVC) services, sexual and reproductive health, family planning, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, migration, child protection, and environmental protection. The organization prioritizes safeguarding children and at-risk adults through strict recruitment and protection policies.

Position Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will be responsible for developing monitoring plans, consolidating and tracking project data, ensuring data quality, and supervising project performance against targets. The role includes providing technical assistance, coordinating reviews, and supporting knowledge management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor project activities, outputs, and progress toward results.
  • Facilitate input from staff, partners, and stakeholders in project design and measurement.
  • Develop and implement M&E frameworks and plans.
  • Conduct data management, analysis, and quality assurance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
  • Maintain monitoring systems for baseline and periodic data collection.
  • Conduct monitoring visits, review meetings, and joint supportive supervisions (JISS).
  • Document lessons learned and innovations for knowledge sharing.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, statistics, economics, or related fields.
  • 2 years’ M&E experience for Master’s degree holders, or 4 years for Bachelor’s degree holders, preferably in NGO development or humanitarian settings.
  • Experience in research methods, data management, and evaluation design.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Fluency in English and local language.
