About the National Election Board of Ethiopia

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is an independent organization established in accordance with Article 102 of the Constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Since January 2019, as part of efforts to reform NEBE, the House of Peoples’ Representatives enacted a new proclamation that reduced the management board to five full-time members serving for a period of six years.

1. Election Legal Assistant

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in LLB with 3 years of experience; or
  • Master’s degree in LLM with 0 years of experience.

2. Liaison Officer

Education and Experience:

  • BA degree or Diploma in Management, Business Management, or another related field.
  • BA holders: 1 year of experience.
  • Diploma holders: 3 years of experience.

3. Packing and Dispatching Junior Expert I

Education and Experience:

  • MA or BA degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Accounting and Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree holders: 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree holders: 7 years of relevant experience.

4. Gender Expert

Education and Experience:

  • MA or BA degree in Gender and Development Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Law, or another related field.
  • Master’s degree holders: 5 years of experience.

5. Political Parties Support Expert

Education and Experience:

  • MA or BA degree in Law, Political Science, Human Rights, International Relations, or a related field.

6. Political Parties Liaison Expert

Education and Experience:

  • MA, MSc, or BA in Political Science, Development Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field.

7. Planning Expert

Education and Experience:

  • BA, BSc, MA, or MSc in Project Planning and Management, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 7 years of relevant experience for Bachelor’s degree holders.
  • 5 years of relevant experience for Master’s degree holders.

8. Senior Research and Learning Expert

Education and Experience:

  • BA or MA degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Management, or another relevant field.

11. Deputy Head – Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (PMEL) Department

Education and Experience:

  • MA, MSc, or PhD in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Management, or another relevant field.

  • PhD holders: 7 years of experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of PMEA or MEAL systems, preferably in the context of elections or governance-related programs.
