Description
The NOC Specialist will play a crucial role in driving the implementation of OSS and automation architecture, adhering to architectural principles. They will analyze and refine requirements, ensuring high-quality delivery of technology services to meet business needs. This role is vital in maintaining the smooth operation of our NOC environment.
Responsibilities
Role purpose: To provide the technical lead in the team responsible for implementation of OSS and automation architecture/landscape and to ensure that architecture principles /guidelines are adhered to in the development of solutions. To analyze and refine requirements for delivering the necessary technology service to business and ensure high quality, effective and efficient delivery within the NOC environment.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
To perform systems analysis and design activities by assessing requirements in terms of feasibility, impact and cost, thereby assisting to create and compile accurate user requirement documents.
- To develop and enhance tools, processes and applications that will identify and address problems and optimize delivery against targets.
- To evaluate new technology solutions through research, analyzing and testing
- To produce management reports and ensure standard documentation is completed (e.g. project documentation, tracking, , audit reports)
- To co-ordinate and lead technical projects to deliver within time and cost
- Network and collaborate with all stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure an understanding of key business issues, requirements, and drivers.
- Drive automation and dependable for the end-to-end operation.
- Ensure continuous improvement and improved efficiencies in technical environment.
- Manage Technical contracts and vendors
- Manage and maintain OSS systems, including upgrades, patches, and security updates.

- 3 Years systems analysis and design experience preferably in a highly complex environment (essential)

- In-depth knowledge of OSS systems, tools and ITSM.
- Strong understanding of telecom networks, protocols and NOC architecture
Key performance indicators [max 3]: - Implement OSS and Automation landscape.
- Individual architecture components that are consistent with the wider Safaricom Ethiopia architecture
- Manage contractors and vendors
- Technical support and leadership provided to the team and broader division.
- Quality solution designs that meet user requirements and complying with Vodafone Group Architecture Principles.
Qualifications
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Electrical/Computer Engineering or Information Systems (essential)
- 3 Years systems analysis and design experience preferably in a highly complex environment (essential)
- Project Management (desirable)
- Excel in verbal and written communications.
- Creative problem solver, take initiative, and proactively communicate with your team and customers to ensure program success.
- An advanced user of Microsoft Words and PowerPoints and a proficient user of Microsoft Excels or equivalent business productivity software.
- Organized, empathetic, and have strong customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, adapt quickly, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced technology environment with people from all backgrounds in all levels of an organization.
