Job Summary

PAPDA is offering internship opportunities in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, within its Operations Department. The program provides hands-on professional experience in Human Resources, Procurement, and Logistics, supporting the organization’s operational and programmatic objectives.


Position Title: Intern (Operations)

  • Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
  • Department: Operations Department
  • Reports To: Department Head
  • Contract Duration: Three (3) months, with possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability

Organizational Context

PAPDA seeks motivated interns to support its operational units, including Human Resources, Procurement, and Logistics. The internship is designed to strengthen organizational efficiency while providing valuable professional development opportunities.


Purpose of the Internship

Interns will contribute to the delivery of efficient, timely, and quality operational services. Responsibilities include assisting with departmental activities, supporting documentation processes, and facilitating collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Human Resources (HR)

  • Support recruitment processes (vacancy announcements, shortlisting, interview coordination)
  • Assist in maintaining personnel files and HR databases
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new staff and interns
  • Assist with HR documentation, filing, and reporting

Procurement and Logistics

  • Prepare procurement documents (purchase requests, RFQs, bid analysis summaries)
  • Support vendor communication and maintain procurement records
  • Ensure compliance with PAPDA and donor regulations
  • Track and file procurement documentation
  • Support inventory and asset management (stock cards, asset registers)
  • Assist in coordinating transportation, distribution, and dispatch documentation
  • Support warehouse organization and stock control
  • Prepare logistics and asset reports

Required Qualifications and Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Human Resource Management, or related fields
  • Master’s Degree is an asset

Experience

  • 6 months–1 year of relevant work or internship experience
