About the Role
Ahadu Bank S.C is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Engineering and Operation Officer to design, implement, and maintain the Bank’s cybersecurity infrastructure and operational frameworks. The role involves engineering advanced security solutions, managing real-time operations, and ensuring the protection of digital assets against cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect advanced cybersecurity solutions (firewalls, IPS, secure network zones).
- Implement and configure security tools to protect infrastructure and endpoints.
- Analyze complex security logs and alerts to identify breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Lead incident response activities during high-severity cyber-attacks.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate penetration testing.
- Manage lifecycle of security technologies (updates, tuning, optimization).
- Perform proactive threat hunting to detect hidden threats.
- Develop and update technical security standards and incident response playbooks.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., NBE directives).
- Evaluate new security technologies and conduct Proof of Concepts (PoC).
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure and Applications teams to ensure security-by-design.
- Coordinate with external vendors for managed security services and audits.
- Mentor junior security officers and IT staff on emerging threats and defense tactics.
- Maintain documentation of security architecture and configurations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
- Professional certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CISA, or CCNP Security are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in IT security within the banking industry.
- At least 2 years in a senior IT security officer role or equivalent position.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in digital security and cybersecurity operations.
- Advanced knowledge of security tools, frameworks, and compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and incident response skills.
- Ability to mentor and lead technical teams.
