REACH Ethiopia is seeking a highly qualified Project Accountant to support the USAID Urban TB LON II project. Based in Hawassa, the role involves managing financial transactions, assisting in budget preparation, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting operational excellence through effective financial reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess advanced analytical skills, and thrive in deadline-driven environments. Previous experience with NGOs and proficiency in QuickBooks are essential for this position.


πŸ› οΈ Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with cash flow forecasts, annual budgets, and financial reports.
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including invoice processing and reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely preparation and authorization of payment documents.
  • Reconcile bank statements, inventory, and general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of receipts, deposits, and transactions.
  • Process supplier payments and reconcile statements with purchase ledgers.
  • Post financial transactions on QuickBooks and generate necessary reports.
  • Support payroll preparation and employee payments.
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and donor guidelines.

πŸŽ“ Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

πŸ’Ό Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with NGOs is mandatory.
  • Proven track record with donor-funded projects, especially USAID, is a plus.

  • Strong command of QuickBooks accounting software.
