Right To Play is inviting qualified consultants to submit proposals for a Cultural Awareness Training consultancy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This short-term consultancy is designed for professionals with expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), intercultural communication, and cultural awareness training.

Right To Play is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to protecting, educating, and empowering children through the power of play. The selected consultant will design and facilitate interactive in-person training sessions that strengthen multicultural collaboration and communication among staff.

Consultancy Summary

The consultant will design and facilitate two half-day in-person Cultural Awareness Training sessions for Right To Play staff in Addis Ababa. The assignment aims to strengthen cultural awareness, promote effective communication across multicultural teams, and encourage respectful collaboration in diverse work environments.

Scope of Work

Preparation

  • Conduct an inception meeting with the People & Culture team.
  • Design an interactive in-person training program.
  • Prepare presentation materials and practical learning exercises.

Training Delivery

  • Facilitate two half-day in-person training sessions.
  • Encourage participant engagement through interactive learning methods.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Post-Training

  • Share presentation materials and additional learning resources.
  • Prepare and submit a post-training report.

  • Cultural awareness beyond nationality.
  • Communication in multicultural workplaces.
  • Cultural values, communication styles, and workplace behaviors.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience delivering cultural awareness, intercultural communication, or DEI training.
  • Experience working with international or multicultural teams.
  • Strong facilitation skills for in-person training.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Amharic language proficiency is desirable but not required.
