We are now hiring a Senior Talent Acquisition and Development Manager for our Ethiopia Country Office in Addis Ababa. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced HR professionals looking for NGO HR jobs in Ethiopia to contribute to building a strong and future-ready workforce.
Role Purpose
The Senior Talent Acquisition and Development Manager will lead strategies in recruitment, onboarding, learning & development (L&D), employee engagement, and performance management. The role reports directly to the HR, Admin & Safeguarding Director and plays a key role in shaping HR practices to align with Save the Children’s mission and values.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in HR management in NGOs in Ethiopia, especially in talent acquisition, organizational development, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

Lead workforce planning and design end-to-end recruitment strategies.

Oversee job advertisements, sourcing, interviews, offers, and pre-boarding.

Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all hiring practices.

Represent Save the Children at career fairs, job expos, and HR conferences to strengthen employer branding.
Onboarding & Employee Integration

Develop structured onboarding programs for new staff.

Ensure new hires complete all mandatory training.

Support cultural integration and job readiness for employees.
Learning & Development (L&D)

Conduct training needs assessments and implement annual training plans.

Lead employee capacity-building initiatives including leadership development and career progression.

Manage e-learning, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing platforms.
Employee Engagement & Wellness
-
Implement initiatives to boost employee motivation and workplace culture.

Coordinate wellness programs, recognition events, and staff appreciation.

Champion organizational values, diversity, and inclusion.
Performance Management

Oversee goal setting, evaluations, and performance improvement plans.

Train managers in effective and fair performance appraisals.

Support succession planning and workforce development.
Staff Management & Oversight

Supervise HR Officers and support field HR teams.

Ensure compliance with HR policies, contracts, and labor laws in Ethiopia.

Mentor junior HR professionals and promote team collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience

Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:
-
Minimum 7 years of HR experience (including at least 2 years in a senior managerial role).

Proven success in talent acquisition, learning & development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

Experience in HR management within international NGOs in Ethiopia is highly desirable.

Strong ability to lead HR teams and align workforce planning with organizational objectives.
