Position: Operations Management Officer

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience (household goods industry preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of contract management and organizational effectiveness
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative management style
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Commitment to professional ethics and workplace diversity

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow up on all shipments (import/export) with customs agents, shipping lines, airlines, and transporters
  • Provide daily updates on shipment status to clients, agents, and internal stakeholders
  • Collect packing lists and weight certificates within 24 hours and prepare re‑export documents
  • Monitor shipments from booking to delivery, addressing delays or clearance challenges
  • Coordinate with customs agents in Ethiopia and Djibouti for timely declarations
  • Review and approve shipping documents (letters, AWB, BL)
  • Ensure timely preparation and sharing of all necessary documents (packing lists, invoices, permits, etc.)
  • Maintain organized operation files compliant with FIDI standards
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and BD units on documentation and client updates
  • Follow up on financial matters (port invoices, storage fees, demurrage, agent invoices)
  • Generate daily updates in the automation system and prepare reports for management
  • Draft invoices upon completion of operations and submit for approval
  • Ensure empty containers are returned promptly after delivery
  • Maintain professional and ethical communication with all stakeholders

Communication & Networking

  • Liaise with agents, clients, clearing agents, and Transit Marill operational staff
