Open Positions

Position 1: Community Development Facilitator

  • Employment Type: Full‑time; Fixed‑term contract; 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
  • Job Location: Raya and Bati, Ethiopia
  • Reports to: Project Officer

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity work plans.
  • Facilitate and supervise VESA Facilitators and mentor VESA groups.
  • Mobilize and sensitize communities and organise beneficiary selection.
  • Establish and strengthen VESAs and Rural Savings and Credit Cooperatives.
  • Deliver training on financial literacy, governance, IGA, market access, and resilience.
  • Support distribution of agricultural inputs and monitor timely delivery.
  • Collect, verify, and maintain beneficiary and project data; contribute to assessments and baseline studies.
  • Liaise with local government, financial institutions, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
  • Promote gender and disability inclusion, PSEAH, and nutrition education.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly project performance reports and document lessons learned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: BSc/BA in Agriculture, Rural Development, Development Studies, Economics, Food Security, Disaster Risk Management, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Cooperative Development, Sociology, or related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience in livelihoods, food security, resilience, climate adaptation, natural resource management, community mobilisation, or related fields.
  • Technical Skills: Experience establishing/strengthening VESAs and RuSACCOs; market linkage and value‑chain support; data collection and reporting; MS Word and Excel.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; organisational ability; cultural sensitivity; ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in NGO settings and multi‑stakeholder environments.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in Afaan Oromo (Oromiffa) for Bati assignment.
  • Other Requirement: Motorbike license.

Position 2: Finance and Admin Assistant

  • Employment Type: Full‑time; Fixed‑term contract; 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
  • Job Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (frequent travel to operational areas)
  • Reports to: Head of Finance and Admin; matrix reporting to Senior HR and Admin Officer

Responsibilities

  • Manage utilities, office supplies, communications systems, and facilities maintenance.
  • Prepare bank transfer letters, cheques, and online transfer entries for reviewer approval.
  • Organize and hand over financial documents; compile withholding tax receipts and monthly tax reports.
  • Verify invoices and payment documents for accuracy and compliance; support cash disbursement planning.
  • Provide payroll inputs and remit statutory deductions including tax and provident fund contributions.
  • Maintain secure registration and storage of official financial documents and unused forms.
  • Assist in preparing financial documentation for external audits and compliance reviews.
  • Oversee HR administrative tasks including timesheet tracking, personnel file management, and local contracts.
  • Coordinate logistics for workshops, meetings, trainings, and travel arrangements.
  • Manage warehouse operations: receive and record stock, maintain inventory records, apply FIFO, and report discrepancies.
  • Ensure safe storage conditions and security of warehouse items.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Minimum BA degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
  • Work Experience: At least 2 years’ relevant experience in NGO/INGO or related sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel); experience with procurement, warehouse handling, supply chain, and office administration; knowledge of donor financial guidelines.
  • Soft Skills: High integrity, strong organisational and multitasking ability, analytical and financial management skills, effective communication, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Other Requirements: Flexibility to travel frequently to field locations; working knowledge of English and local languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional accounting certification.
  • Experience managing audits and compliance reviews.
  • Prior NGO programme or humanitarian experience.
