๐ About REACH Ethiopia
REACH Ethiopia is a nonprofit Ethiopian Residents Charity dedicated to empowering communities through health-focused innovations. Since 2013, it has been a leader in implementing community-based TB care and integrated health projects across various Ethiopian regions, including Sidama, Oromia, Tigray, and Afar.
Currently, REACH Ethiopia is implementing the USAID Urban TB LON II - SWIF TB Initiative, an ambitious project targeting high TB burden areasโknown as the โTB triangleโโwith the goal of reducing TB prevalence and improving case detection and treatment outcomes.
๐ Job Summary
REACH Ethiopia is looking for a Short-Term Zonal Coordinator to cover maternity leave under the SWIF-TB Initiative. The position will be based in East Borena Zone and will oversee the implementation of community-level TB interventions, supervise field teams, and collaborate with regional stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of project goals.
๐ง Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Coordination

Lead TB screening and treatment support activities.

Develop and execute operational plans aligned with project objectives.

Coordinate with Zonal Health Departments and Woreda Health Offices.

Support community mobilization and ultra-portable digital X-ray screening using AI.

Technical Support & Capacity Building

Mentor Zonal/Woreda TB Officers on program implementation.

Promote innovation in TB detection and care.

Conduct on-site coaching and support capacity-building efforts.

Monitoring & Reporting
-
Ensure compliance with project guidelines.

Monitor performance and submit detailed reports.

Train staff on HMIS data entry and quality assurance.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build partnerships with local authorities and community groups.

Promote rights-based and gender-sensitive TB services.

Coordinate resources and community support with national partners.
๐ค Candidate Profile
๐ Education & Experience
-
Masterโs in Public Health with 5+ years in TB control (3 years supervisory experience), or
-
Bachelorโs in Public Health with 8+ years in TB control (5 years supervisory experience).
๐ Skills & Competencies
-
Proven project coordination and team leadership.

Experience with community TB and health extension programs.

Fluency in English, Amharic, and a local language relevant to East Borena Zone.

Prior experience with USAID-funded projects is a plus.
๐ Location Requirement

Willingness to be based in East Borena Zone with frequent local travel and communication with Woreda offices.
