Open Positions
1️⃣ Senior Finance and Budget Assistant (G‑7) – Addis Ababa
Deadline: August 4, 2026
Responsibilities:
- Monitor approved budgets and prepare financial analysis/reports.
- Implement IPSAS accounting procedures and ensure assets are recorded.
- Operate Umoja system for procurement, consultants, and contractors.
- Prepare annual budget proposals and monitor expenditures.
- Review and certify payments, including overtime claims.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Certificate/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field desirable.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, budget, accounting, or administration (8 years with a university degree).
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; knowledge of Umoja desirable.
- Experience in data analytics is an advantage.
2️⃣ Senior Procurement Assistant (G‑7/1) – Addis Ababa
Deadline: July 14, 2026
Responsibilities:
- Review and prioritize purchasing requests; assist requisitioners in preparing scope of work.
- Identify suppliers, prepare tender documents, and analyze bids.
- Negotiate terms and prepare draft contracts/agreements.
- Raise purchase orders, maintain databases, and track contractual obligations.
- Resolve delivery issues and prepare return forms for unacceptable goods.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or Accounting is an asset.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement administration (8 years with a university degree).
- Minimum 2 years of direct procurement experience required.
- Experience in contract management and ERP systems desirable.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of French or another UN language is an advantage.
3️⃣ Procurement Assistant (G‑6/1) – Addis Ababa
Deadline: July 14, 2026
Responsibilities:
- Review, record, and prioritize purchasing requests.
- Assist requisitioners in preparing scope of work and specifications.
- Identify suppliers and prepare tender documents.
- Compile bid data and recommend suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Negotiate terms and prepare draft contracts/agreements.
- Raise purchase orders and ensure funds are obligated.
- Maintain procurement databases and track contractual obligations.
- Resolve delivery issues and prepare return forms for unacceptable goods.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Degree in Procurement, Business Administration, or Accounting is an asset.
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, business administration, accounting, or IT.
- Experience with procurement software and database management desirable.
- Knowledge of UN procurement policies and procedures an asset.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of French or another UN language is an advantage.
