Position: Management Services Assistant (Protocol Services), G5
Role Summary
The Management Services Assistant will provide protocol support services within the WFP Ethiopia Country Office, ensuring timely and accurate handling of protocol‑related requests and transactions. The role involves liaison with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies, consular offices, and other authorities, supporting visa and permit processing, residence formalities, note verbales, and arrangements for official missions and high‑level visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Process import permits, customs clearance, and shipment releases.
- Coordinate visa applications, approvals, and passport collection for staff.
- Handle residence permits, renewals, and business visa extensions.
- Manage driving license legalization and vehicle ownership transfers.
- Draft and submit note verbales and official correspondence.
- Provide protocol support for VIP/VVIP visits and official missions.
- Maintain trackers and records for visas, permits, and clearances.
- Liaise with government authorities, embassies, and consular offices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of secondary school education.
- Training or certification in protocol services, diplomacy, international relations, or public administration is desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in protocol services or related roles (visa/permit processing, liaison with government authorities, embassies, consular offices).
- Strong knowledge of protocol procedures and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of local language is an advantage.
