📌 Job Summary
AGCI Ethiopia is seeking a Communications Officer to lead and manage all communications efforts, serving as the primary voice and steward for AGCI’s work in Ethiopia. Reporting directly to the Country Director, this role will ensure alignment with AGCI’s global brand standards while capturing and disseminating compelling, ethical, and trauma‑informed stories that reflect AGCI initiatives in Ethiopia.
The Communications Officer will strengthen AGCI Ethiopia’s visibility, partnerships, and leadership within the child welfare and trauma‑informed care space.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Ethical Storytelling: Develop impact stories, reports, and updates while ensuring safeguarding and trauma‑sensitive standards.
- Digital & Social Media Management: Manage AGCI Ethiopia’s Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, create localized content calendars, and monitor engagement.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistent use of AGCI’s brand guidelines and act as Ethiopia’s brand ambassador.
- Media Relations: Support press releases, speeches, and external communications.
- Internal Communications: Streamline updates between programs, leadership, and HQ.
- Events & Advocacy Support: Develop event materials, document milestones, and strengthen AGCI’s positioning in child protection advocacy.
🎓 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in communications, preferably within a nonprofit or child‑focused organization.
- Experience in ethical storytelling and safeguarding sensitive communications preferred.
- Strong writing and editing skills in English and Amharic.
- Proficiency in social media management tools, Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar platforms.
