About the Role
The Ambulance Driver will be responsible for operating ERCS ambulance vehicles safely and professionally, supporting emergency medical services, and ensuring compliance with Ethiopian traffic laws and ERCS regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Drive ERCS ambulances carefully and responsibly, following all traffic rules.
- Transport only authorized persons and trips; ensure accountability for vehicle use.
- Assist ambulance attendants with patient loading, unloading, and first aid support.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and hand over vehicles in proper condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or incidents immediately to the operational manager.
- Ensure timely vehicle servicing and maintenance schedules.
- Complete administrative tasks including logbooks, fuel vouchers, and checklists.
- Keep the ambulance clean and ready for emergency use at all times.
- Follow ERCS accident procedures as outlined in the Ambulance Management Manual.
Qualifications
- TVET Level II or completion of 10th grade.
- Valid 3rd Grade Driving License (or equivalent).
- 4–6 years of professional driving experience.
Skills Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to helping others and supporting emergency services.
