About ANPPCAN‑Ethiopia

ANPPCAN‑Ethiopia is one of the oldest child protection civil society organizations in Ethiopia, re‑registered with the Federal Authority for Civil Society Organizations under registration number 0385. The organization works on child protection programs across Ethiopia in collaboration with donor partners and government stakeholders.


Position Overview

ANPPCAN‑Ethiopia is seeking a Human Resource and General Service Officer to join its head office in Addis Ababa. The role involves managing HR functions, overseeing general services, and supporting organizational operations in line with HR policy and Ethiopian labor law.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage recruitment and selection of staff at head office and project sites.
  • Handle staffing, transfers, social security, pension, retirement, and disciplinary cases.
  • Prepare annual training and staff development plans.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
  • Maintain and update personnel files.
  • Monitor contract renewals and performance evaluations.
  • Arrange ID cards and annual leave plans.
  • Supervise office attendants, security guards, and drivers.
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance, insurance, and inspection.
  • Manage office buildings, utilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Coordinate logistics for workshops, meetings, and visiting delegates.
  • Supervise staff attendance and prepare reports.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements

  • Education: MA/BA in Management, Human Resources Management, or Public Administration.
  • Experience: 2–3 years of relevant work experience; knowledge of the NGO environment is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Awareness of Ethiopian labor law.
    • Strong HR management and computer skills.
    • Time management, decision‑making, adaptability, communication, team building, and leadership.
