Senior Portfolio Manager, NTDs

CBM is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Manager to provide strategic leadership across its multi-country Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) donor portfolio. The position is locally recruited within CBM's established country entities, including Ethiopia, and does not involve expatriate assignment.

The successful candidate will work with country programs and global teams to strengthen portfolio performance, oversee donor compliance, manage financial and operational risks, and support the continued growth of CBM's NTD programs.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Portfolio Manager will:

  • Lead grant management and donor compliance across CBM's multi-country NTD portfolio.
  • Review budgets, work plans, procurement plans, and donor reports before submission.
  • Oversee sub-award management and portfolio-wide compliance monitoring.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, budget utilization, and delivery against agreed milestones.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with institutional donors and donor secretariats.
  • Support donor stewardship, resource mobilization, and business development activities.
  • Coordinate portfolio management across country teams and internal CBM functions.
  • Provide strategic and operational support to country programs, initially focusing on the RLMF portfolio.
  • Capture lessons learned and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the NTD portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A relevant academic degree in International Development, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience managing grants within multi-country donor-funded health or development programs.
  • Strong experience in donor compliance, budgeting, and sub-award management.
  • Experience managing or advising on institutional donor compliance frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of the Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) landscape and major global health donors.
  • Experience managing sub-award or sub-grant agreements with in-country partners.
  • Experience working across multiple country offices in international or matrix environments.
  • Strong donor-facing communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and cross-cultural relationship-building skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English and French.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work across different time zones.
  • Alignment with CBM's Christian values and organizational mission.
