About Cheshire Ethiopia
Cheshire Ethiopia is an independent non‑profit organization providing orthopedic and social rehabilitation services for children and young people with disabilities. Established in 1962 by the grandchildren of Emperor Haile Selassie with technical support from Captain Leonard Cheshire, the charity plays a leading role in physical rehabilitation for persons with disabilities, mainly children, across Ethiopia.
Available Position
Junior Physiotherapist
- Education: BSc in Physiotherapy
- Experience: None required (Fresh graduates encouraged to apply)
- Location: Addis Ababa
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical examinations of patients referred by medical officers or specialists
- Design problem‑oriented treatment plans and adjust as necessary
- Carry out physiotherapy treatments and evaluate outcomes
- Apply massage, remedial exercises, and instruct on prosthetic/orthotic appliance use
- Provide pre‑ and post‑physiotherapy services for assistive technology users
- Perform conservative corrections with POP for orthopedic/neurological pathology
- Utilize mechanical devices, exercising equipment, and electrotherapy techniques
- Apply heat and cold therapy as required
- Assist supervisors with patient appointments and clinic administration
- Report treatment outcomes to referring medical officers
- Ensure proper handling of equipment and report faults for repair
- Participate in coaching rehabilitation workers and para‑professionals
- Contribute to annual planning and submit activity reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors
