In Ethiopia, CIFA has worked for more than 20 years, supporting education access (especially for girls), combating discrimination, and promoting women’s economic empowerment. Current operations span Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Amhara (South Wollo), Hareri, and Oromia.
Project Background
The PROMETEO Project (“Protection of Minors in Ethiopia on the Eastern Migration Route”), financed by the Italian Ministry of Interior, aims to improve access to and quality of basic services for migrant and vulnerable youth, ensuring their protection and integration into communities in Dire Dawa and Harar.
Position: Finance Officer (Project Admin)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as focal person for financial, admin, procurement, logistics, and HR activities at field office level.
- Record daily financial transactions and ensure timely reporting.
- Prepare monthly cash flow projections and financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
- Manage HR activities, including staff advances, per diem, and travel expense settlements.
- Ensure compliance with donor (AICS), organizational, and Ethiopian tax regulations.
- Implement procurement processes in line with donor and CIFA policies.
- Maintain fixed asset registry and ensure timely audits.
- Supervise safe documentation of accounting files and tax declarations.
- Collaborate with country office finance and admin unit for oversight.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, including 4 years with INGOs/humanitarian organizations.
- Strong financial and accounting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills in English and Amharic (written and verbal).
Remuneration
- Gross monthly salary: €520.67 (Grade 5 – Step 1).
- Includes transport allowance, 11% pension fund, 20% hardship allowance, medical & life insurance.
