The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low‑ and middle‑income countries. CHAI partners with governments and the private sector to build sustainable, high‑quality health systems.
CHAI has launched an ambitious Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiative to responsibly harness AI for healthcare delivery, diagnostics, treatment optimization, patient engagement, and system efficiency. Ethiopia is a key focus country for this initiative, and CHAI is recruiting professionals to lead and implement this work.

Senior Associate / Associate, Clinical AI

Education & Background: Practicing or recently practicing clinician (Medical Doctor, Nurse, or Midwife preferred)

Experience: Clinical workflow/user needs scoping; health informatics or diagnostic devices experience desirable

Responsibilities:
- Scope clinical/user requirements for AI tools
- Drive pilot implementation and rollout (training, supervision, data collection)
- Coordinate evaluations and research studies
- Engage stakeholders including Ministry of Health, professional bodies, and frontline providers
- Ensure integrity of clinical data and compliance with ethics/privacy standards

Senior Program Manager / Associate Director, Clinical AI

Education & Background: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Public Health, Health Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred

Experience: Progressive leadership in health systems or technology programs (LMIC contexts preferred); track record of bringing health technologies (AI/digital health) from development to scale; direct engagement with Ministries of Health

Responsibilities:
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of CHAI’s AI initiative in Ethiopia
- Translate strategy into sequenced work plans and milestones
- Build and steward relationships with government, donors, and partners
- Manage and grow the in‑country Clinical AI team
- Ensure accurate, traceable data for product development and evaluation
- Anticipate regulatory, infrastructure, and workforce readiness for scale
