Position 1: ESNFI Expert / Work Supervisor

Duty Station: Shire Area, North Western Zone of Tigray
Career Level: Senior (5–8 years)
Number Required: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee shelter/NFI activities, including construction, rehabilitation, and distribution.
  • Prepare BoQs, ToRs, drawings; ensure compliance with SPHERE standards.
  • Conduct needs assessments and engage communities in culturally sensitive shelter design.
  • Supervise contractors, track budgets, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Coordinate with government authorities, UN agencies, and humanitarian clusters.
  • Compile reports and contribute to monitoring/evaluation activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • 5–8 years humanitarian/emergency experience.
  • AutoCAD, MS Office, GPS/GIS proficiency.
  • Fluency in English and Tigrigna.
  • Experience managing staff and liaising with local authorities.

Position 2: WASH Supervisor

Duty Station: Shire Area, North Western Zone of Tigray
Career Level: Senior (5–8 years)
Number Required: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise WASH works (spring capping, wells, boreholes, latrines).
  • Prepare BoQs, ToRs, drawings; ensure compliance with standards.
  • Supervise masons/plumbers and contractors.
  • Conduct baseline, monitoring, and endline surveys.
  • Support hygiene campaigns and community mobilization.
  • Draft reports and contribute to project meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (water/civil works).
  • 5–8 years relevant experience supervising water works.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, QGIS, SPHERE standards.
  • Fluency in English and Tigrigna.
  • Proven ability to manage staff.

Position 3: Project Officer / WASH Supervisor

Duty Station: Setit‑Humera & Kafeta‑Humera Woredas
Career Level: Junior (1–3 years)
Number Required: 1

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day‑to‑day WASH project implementation and prepare weekly progress reports.
  • Conduct needs assessments and track progress using M&E tools.
  • Coordinate with government officials, community leaders, and partners.
  • Supervise field staff, facilitators, and volunteers.
  • Facilitate logistics and material delivery.
  • Supervise construction of WASH works (cisterns, water systems, latrines).
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports and ensure compliance with humanitarian standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering (water/civil works).
  • 5+ years relevant experience supervising construction teams for water works.
  • Strong knowledge of WASH infrastructure, hydraulics, BoQs.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic/Tigrigna.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Teamwork and staff management experience.

Position 4: Community Mobilizer

Duty Station: Setit‑Humera & Kafeta‑Humera Woredas
Career Level: Junior (1–3 years)
Number Required: 2

Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize communities, register and verify beneficiaries, and ensure gender mainstreaming in targeting.
  • Support distribution of NFIs and inputs for DRR activities.
  • Conduct baseline, midline, and endline surveys; report results using Kobo tools.
  • Facilitate community feedback mechanisms and provide translation services when required.
  • Engage with local authorities and support awareness on WASH and DRR.
  • Compile weekly/monthly reports and contribute to project meetings.
  • Support donor visits and coordination meetings at kebele/woreda level.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Social Sciences, Agriculture, DRM, Agricultural Extension, or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with NGOs in similar roles.
  • Fluency in Amharic/Tigrigna; good knowledge of English.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and diplomacy skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Excel).
  • Knowledge of Setit‑Humera and Kafeta‑Humera Woredas preferred.
