About the Role
ELiDA, a women‑led civil society organization established in 2008, is seeking an MSME Consultant – Youth Enterprise Coaching to support youth‑led businesses in South and North Wollo zones. In partnership with Girls Effect Ethiopia, ELiDA is implementing the Support, Enable and Engage project, focusing on entrepreneurship and mindset development. This consultancy will deliver structured coaching to strengthen youth role model enterprises under the Yegna Gize Business Development Support (BDS) initiative.
Purpose and Objectives
- Transform youth businesses into scalable, youth‑friendly enterprises.
- Position businesses as centers for mentorship, internships, and employment.
- Improve resilience, financial literacy, and market readiness.
- Promote inclusive and youth‑safe business practices.
Scope of Work
The consultant will provide on‑site coaching to 15 youth role model businesses across five districts (Dessie City, Kombucha City, Dessie Zuria, Kutaber, and Albuko).
Coaching Structure
- Visit 1: Business diagnostic and needs assessment (2–3 hours).
- Visit 2: Targeted coaching and action planning (2–3 hours).
- Feedback Session: Presentation of findings, lessons learned, and best practices.
Coaching Pillars
- Business model clarity, workflow efficiency, and quality control.
- Costing, pricing, cash flow, and record‑keeping.
- Customer segmentation, marketing strategies, and market linkages.
- Business registration and transition from informal to formal operations.
- Structuring internships, apprenticeships, and safe mentorship.
Expected Deliverables
- Completed business diagnostic tool.
- Business improvement plan with 3–5 actionable steps.
- Coaching visit reports.
- End‑of‑assignment summary report highlighting success stories and recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting MSMEs, startups, or youth‑led businesses.
- Proven expertise in business advisory, financial literacy, and market linkage.
- Familiarity with local business registration, taxation, and regional economic contexts.
- Strong coaching approach based on listening and co‑creation.
- Commitment to ELiDA safeguarding policies.
Required Skills
- Business development and entrepreneurship training.
- Strong financial analysis and advisory skills.
- Experience in training and development for MSMEs.

Coordination & Quality Assurance
