Job Summary
One Acre Fund, a leading agricultural organization supporting over 1.5 million smallholder farmers across Africa, is seeking a proactive professional to lead internal communications, workplace culture, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in Ethiopia. This role will drive staff engagement, professional growth, and organizational cohesion, ensuring a world-class employee experience while empowering teams to deliver life-changing impact to farmers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage staff messaging channels and advise leadership on communication strategies
- Organize staff meetings, resolve employee questions, and produce monthly newsletters
- Champion company values and lead inclusive activities to strengthen team spirit
- Use staff survey data to track workplace health and recommend improvements
- Lead DEI projects to promote fairness and increase female representation
- Facilitate staff training, onboarding, and compliance course completion
- Maintain office environment and manage travel logistics for international visitors
- Support career growth through mentorship, training, and regular performance reviews
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Degree in Communications, Human Resources, Public Relations, International Relations, or related fields
- Equivalent professional experience in internal communications, organizational culture, or DEI initiatives considered
Experience
- 3–5 years in internal communications, culture, or DEI leadership roles
- Proven experience in project management and change management
- Strong relationship management and advisory skills
Skills
- Fluent written and verbal communication in English and Amharic
- Analytical skills with proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and G-Suite
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel up to 35% to field locations
