Position Overview

The Senior Project Officer II – Poultry Agribusiness will provide technical leadership and project management support for poultry (egg and meat) value chain development and forage agribusiness initiatives. The role involves planning, coordinating, and implementing poultry commercialization projects, mentoring value chain actors, and facilitating stakeholder engagement to strengthen Ethiopia’s livestock sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for poultry and forage commercialization activities.
• Plan and manage project activities in line with work plans and budgets.
• Support poultry value chain development (layers and broilers) through demonstrations, training, and technology adoption.
• Monitor and evaluate project performance, ensuring timely reporting.
• Facilitate stakeholder platforms and promote new technologies.
• Mainstream gender, climate-smart agriculture, and nutrition in interventions.
• Map and engage poultry and forage value chain actors, creating effective linkages.
• Represent ATI in regional forums and workshops.
• Provide business advisory services and capacity development to project beneficiaries.

Job Requirements

• Education: Master’s degree in Animal Production, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Poultry Agribusiness, or related fields.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years directly related to poultry value chain development, agribusiness, and commercialization.
• Technical Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of value chain management and agribusiness development.
  • Experience in project design, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Practical expertise in poultry production and commercialization.
  • Data management and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
• Behavioral Competencies:
  • Result‑oriented, collaborative, and team‑building skills.
  • Strong integrity, problem‑solving ability, and networking skills.
  • Excellent time management and communication.
• Languages: Proficiency in English and Amharic; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
