About Ethiopian Railways Corporation

The Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC) was established on 20 November 2007 under Regulation 141/2007 of the Council of Ministers. ERC is mandated to develop railway infrastructure and provide passenger and freight rail transportation services across Ethiopia. ERC plays a vital role in modernizing Ethiopia’s transport sector and supporting economic growth.

1. Purchaser

• Qualification: BA in Purchasing & Supply Management, Economics, Accounting, or related fields
• Experience: Minimum 4 years relevant experience
• Location: Kombolcha Project
• Salary: As per company scale

2. Forklift Operator

• Qualification: Grade 10/12 completed with valid 4th Grade Driving License
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in loading, unloading, transporting materials, and forklift inspection
• Location: Kombolcha Project
• Salary: As per company scale

3. Backhoe Loader Operator

• Qualification: Special Driving License / Loader Operating License
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in excavation and material transport
• Location: Kombolcha Project
• Salary: As per company scale

4. Coster Driver

• Qualification: Grade 10/12 completed with 4th Grade Driving License
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in driving service vehicles
• Location: Kombolcha Project
• Salary: As per company scale

5. Mobile Garage Truck Driver

• Qualification: Grade 10/12 completed with 4th Grade Driving License
• Experience: Minimum 5 years operating medium-sized trucks
• Location: Kombolcha Project

6. Half Crane Driver

• Qualification: Grade 10/12 completed with 4th Grade Driving License
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in crane operation

7. Fuel Truck Driver

• Qualification: Grade 10/12 completed with 4th Grade Driving License
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in fuel truck driving

• Experience: Minimum 5 years operating lowbed trucks

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in dump truck operation and daily inspection

11. Earth Work Foreman

• Qualification: Diploma in Construction Technology or related field
• Experience: Minimum 5 years, including 4 years as Earth Work Foreman in road construction

12. Track Work Foreman

• Qualification: Diploma in Construction Technology or related field
• Experience: Minimum 2 years, preferably in railway construction projects

13. Welder & Grinder

• Qualification: TVET/Certificate in a related field
• Experience: Minimum 2 years, preferably in railway construction projects

14. Assistant Mechanic

• Qualification: TVET Level III/IV in Auto Mechanics or related field
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in assisting mechanics and performing basic maintenance

15. Vehicle & Heavy Machinery Mechanic Chief

• Qualification: Diploma or TVET Level IV in Automotive Technology or Auto Mechanic
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machinery

16. Executive Secretary I

• Qualification: BA Degree/Level V in Secretarial Science & Office Management
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience

17. Quality Expert II

• Qualification: MSc/BSc in Railway, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering
• Experience: 0–2 years relevant experience
• Location: Addis Ababa

18. Surveyor II

• Qualification: Level III/IV in Surveying, Civil Engineering, GIS, or Remote Sensing
• Experience: 2–4 years relevant experience
• Location: Addis Ababa

19. Senior GIS Expert

• Qualification: MA/MSc/BA/BSc in Engineering, Geology, Geography, GIS, or Remote Sensing
• Experience: 4–6 years relevant experience
