About the EWLA Mentorship Program

The EWLA Mentorship Program is part of the organization's 2026–2030 Strategic Plan and focuses on empowering the next generation of women leaders in the legal profession.

The program aims to create a structured pathway for women entering the legal field while providing practical skills, professional connections, and opportunities to learn from experienced legal practitioners.

It also supports EWLA's professional empowerment and legal networking activities by connecting female law students and young graduates with senior professionals in the legal sector.

What the Mentorship Program Offers

Selected participants will have access to:

  • One-on-one mentorship with senior legal practitioners for six months.
  • Monthly mentorship sessions conducted both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Practical exposure to professional legal environments.
  • Capacity-building sessions designed to strengthen professional skills.
  • Networking opportunities with mentors and fellow participants.
  • Opportunities to exchange professional experiences and knowledge.
  • A certificate of completion upon successful participation.
  • A mentor endorsement letter upon successful completion of the program.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Be a female law student enrolled at an Ethiopian university or affiliated academic institution.
  • Be in the final year / fifth year of law studies, or be a young female law graduate.
  • Be interested in professional development, mentorship, and capacity building in the legal sector.
  • Be committed to attending monthly mentorship sessions, including both in-person and online sessions.
  • Be willing to actively participate in program activities.
  • Have strong communication skills.

Priority: Applicants with high GPA scores will be given priority during the selection process.
