About Hope of Light Civil Society Organization
Hope of Light is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered under the F.D.R.E Civil Society Organizations Agency (Proclamation 1113/2011). The organization focuses on maternal health, specializing in the surgical treatment of obstetric fistula and other pelvic floor disorders.
Hope of Light also provides training in fistula repair for qualified health professionals and conducts outreach programs to identify and prevent obstetric fistula in Ethiopia.
Position Overview – Finance and Administration Manager
The Finance and Administration Manager ensures financial integrity, transparency, and compliance across all organizational operations. This role manages funds from international donors such as Ethiopia Fund and Ethiopiaid, guaranteeing efficient utilization to provide medical services and outreach programs for underprivileged women.
Reports to: Executive Director
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Compliance

Develop and manage annual budgets for the organization and its four fistula centers

Monitor expenditures against budgets to prevent overspending or underutilization

Prepare accurate financial reports for internal stakeholders and international donors

Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and donor regulations

Manage cash flow, ensuring funds are available for patient care, staff salaries, and operational expenses
Administration and Operations

Oversee human resources, including contracts, payroll, benefits, and compliance with Ethiopian labor law

Manage procurement and logistics, ensuring transparent purchasing processes for medical and office supplies

Maintain asset inventories for medical equipment, vehicles, and office supplies

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with F.D.R.E. Civil Society Organizations Agency and other authorities
Project Communication

Build and maintain stakeholder relationships and local community support

Ensure project deliverables and financial records are communicated effectively

Maintain well-structured project schedules and monitor progress

Provide clear updates to project staff and partners to address needs, risks, and solutions
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

8+ years of senior-level experience in finance and administration

Strong knowledge of Peachtree financial application

Extensive project management and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage delegated authority

Excellent interpersonal skills, networking abilities, and stakeholder management

Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Proficient in MS Office
