Role Overview
Bitdeer is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager in Ethiopia to oversee financial operations, reporting, compliance, and business support activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting business growth, and managing compliance with IFRS and Ethiopian accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
General Finance

Assist with budgeting and forecasting, monitor financial performance, and analyze variances.

Provide strategic financial insights to senior management.

Collaborate across departments for smooth financial operations.
Financial Operations & Reporting

Oversee day-to-day financial operations and liaise with local stakeholders.

Prepare financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) in compliance with IFRS and local standards.

Lead financial audits and coordinate with external auditors.

Safeguard financial records and documents.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Support in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models.

Manage month-end/year-end closing, including asset management and accrual schedules.

Conduct variance analysis and operational cost monitoring.

Assist in cash flow budgeting and electricity price analysis.

Prepare monthly management and operational cost reports.
Taxation & Compliance

Collaborate with tax authorities and resolve tax-related issues.

Access Ethiopia’s tax portal to manage official documents.

Ensure timely reporting and compliance with tax regulations.

Stay updated on local tax laws and inform HQ finance team of changes.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

7–8 years of relevant finance experience, with at least 4 years in a similar role.

Professional certifications (CPA, CA) are an advantage.

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Excellent communication in English and Amharic (other local languages are a plus).

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
