Role Purpose

The FSL Officer will lead day‑to‑day community mobilization and livelihood activities in Gode. This includes planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of food security and livelihood interventions. The role ensures fair beneficiary targeting, effective resource use, and strong collaboration with local authorities and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct baseline needs assessments and set participatory beneficiary selection criteria.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor livelihood activities in line with donor and SCI standards.
  • Provide technical support to local authorities and communities to strengthen capacity.
  • Supervise field workers and ensure timely mobilization of resources.
  • Guarantee food and cash transfers reach intended beneficiaries with required quality.
  • Prepare biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and final project reports.
  • Build strong relationships with local officials, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Save the Children’s safeguarding, anti‑fraud, and ethical policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc/BA or MSc/MA in Agriculture, Livelihoods, NRM, DRR, Food Security, Economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in agriculture or NGO work, including emergency livelihood/food security interventions.
  • Strong knowledge of participatory planning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) and computer literacy (MS Office, internet/email).
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to travel to field offices.
