Role Overview
The Global MEL Senior Associate will provide technical guidance, analytical support, and quality assurance across 2β3 country programs within One Acre Fundβs growth portfolio. This role strengthens monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems, supports country MEL Leads, and contributes to global initiatives such as training, methodology development, and cross-program analysis.
Key Responsibilities

Country Portfolio Support: Provide technical guidance to MEL Leads, review survey instruments, strengthen data quality processes, and ensure analytical integrity.

Evaluation Design: Advise on methodologies including PSM, DiD, and RCTs; identify risks and gaps in ongoing evaluations.

Global MEL Initiatives: Contribute to training, shared tools, templates, and cross-program methodology projects.

Agroforestry Support: Provide analytical support for tree planting and agroforestry programs, building evidence for long-term outcomes.

Capacity Building: Train and mentor MEL teams, ensuring global standards are translated into practical learning.
Qualifications
- Masterβs degree in Economics, Statistics, Agricultural Economics, or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of professional MEL or applied research experience in international development.
- Advanced quantitative skills; proficiency in Stata required, R a plus.
- Experience with survey design, mobile data collection (CommCare preferred), and data validation systems.
- Strong background in agriculture; agroforestry experience highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex findings for non-technical audiences.
- Professional fluency in English required; French proficiency is a strong asset.
- Willingness to travel (10β25%).
