Cheshire Ethiopia is an independent, non-profit Ethiopian Resident Charity that has been providing orthopedic and social rehabilitation services to children and young people with disabilities since 1962. Established with the support of the grandchildren of the late Emperor Haile Selassie and Captain Leonard Cheshire, CE plays a leading role in the physical rehabilitation of persons with disabilities, primarily children, in Ethiopia.


Job Summary

The Junior Accountant will handle accounting transactions, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure proper adherence to Cheshire Ethiopia’s financial policies. This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates with a Peachtree certificate to begin their professional career in accounting.


Qualifications

  • Education: BA in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or Finance.
  • Experience: 0 years (Fresh graduate).
  • Additional Requirement: Certificate in Peachtree Accounting Software.

Salary & Benefits

  • Monthly Salary: 8,846 ETB
  • Medical Allowance (Annual): 15,000 ETB
  • Transportation Allowance (Monthly): 500 ETB

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process all accounting transactions accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain reconciled accounts and systematic documentation.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and cheques after verification of supporting documents.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
  • Enter, update, and retrieve accounting data in Peachtree.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and transaction verifications.
  • Update and prepare monthly payroll.
  • Manage float, loan, and salary advance registers.
  • Process payroll deductions, withholding tax, and bill payments.
  • Keep financial source documents properly filed.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
