Role Purpose

The Logistics Assistant will work as part of the logistics team, managing responsibilities related to supply, warehouses, fleet, and dispatching of goods. The role ensures quality in supply chain management support across the Ethiopia programme and provides support to field teams through assessment and accompaniment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure receipt of goods matches purchase orders and requisitions, including technical verification where required.
  • Organize asset counts in line with Oxfam policy and prepare reconciliation reports.
  • Maintain standards and procedures across field office locations.
  • Prepare lists of obsolete assets and items for management decision and disposal.
  • Support supply chain management, warehouse operations, and fleet management.
  • Provide logistics support to field teams as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply and Logistics Management or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant logistics experience, preferably in an INGO.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations while maintaining delivery focus.
  • Strong initiative, innovation, and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • Experience with logistics management system software.
  • Strong data management and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
