Medical Teams International Ethiopia 2026 Job Vacancies – Finance Assistant & Logistics Assistant

Medical Teams International Ethiopia presents two 2026 field‑level opportunities with Medical Teams International in Dessie, Ethiopia: Finance Assistant and Logistics Assistant. Open Positions

Position 1: Finance Assistant

  • Employment Type: Full‑time
  • Job Location: Dessie, Ethiopia
  • Career Level: Junior (1–3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare payment requests with complete supporting documents and correct coding
  • Assist payroll preparation and maintain payroll data
  • Issue authorized cash payments and manage office cash custody
  • Maintain transaction records and perform monthly reconciliations
  • File, archive, and scan finance vouchers and records
  • Support project cash flow planning and budget allocation tasks
  • Prepare and submit weekly, biweekly, and monthly financial reports
  • Provide technical guidance to non‑finance staff on financial procedures
  • Support safeguarding and uphold organizational codes of conduct

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Work Experience: Minimum 2 years in finance and accounting (INGO experience advantageous)
  • Technical Skills: Basic non‑profit accounting knowledge; payroll and voucher coordination; familiarity with ERP/accounting software (Sage, Unit4) desirable; strong Excel skills
  • Soft Skills: Attention to detail; organizational and analytical ability; strong communication; integrity and confidentiality

Position 2: Logistics Assistant

  • Employment Type: Full‑time
  • Job Location: Dessie, Ethiopia
  • Career Level: Junior (1–3 years)

Responsibilities

  • Support supply‑chain activities: planning, sourcing, transport, shipping, warehousing, and distribution control
  • Assist procurement processes in line with MTI policies and donor requirements, including quotations and supplier engagement
  • Track vendor contracts and support timely vendor payments with required documentation
  • Maintain asset and inventory records; conduct occasional monitoring of inventory and assets
  • Ensure proper branding of items per donor requirements and support office supply procurement
  • Conduct local market surveys and maintain a supplier database
  • Collaborate with IT and safety/security teams as required
  • Promote safeguarding practices and uphold organizational code of conduct

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Diploma in Procurement & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
  • Work Experience: Minimum 2 years in procurement and logistics (experience with donor asset/procurement procedures advantageous)
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of procurement, tendering, contracting, clearance, transport, warehousing, fleet and asset management; ERP experience desirable
  • Soft Skills: Negotiation, communication, organization, and computer skills; proficiency in Amharic and English
