ZamZam Bank S.C is hiring Banking Business Officer I, Senior, and Principal Officers in Jimma, Ethiopia (2026) for professionals in interest-free banking operations.
Job Overview
ZamZam Bank S.C, Ethiopia’s first fully licensed interest-free bank, is recruiting qualified professionals to strengthen its branch and district banking operations. These roles support the Bank’s mission of expanding inclusive, Shari’ah-compliant financial services across the Oromia Region.
The Banking Business Officer positions focus on operational excellence, customer relationship management, sales growth, and internal control compliance. Successful candidates will work closely with branch and district management teams. All positions are offered on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and support branch and district banking operations in accordance with bank policies
- Promote interest-free banking products and services to customers
- Drive sales, marketing, and customer acquisition activities
- Enhance customer experience and service quality
- Identify operational issues and implement corrective solutions
- Coordinate branch-level activities and reporting
- Coach and mentor junior banking staff for performance improvement
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
- Utilize core banking systems efficiently
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Banking Business Officer I:
BA Degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, or related business disciplines - Senior District Banking Business Officer:
BA Degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, or related business disciplines - Principal District Banking Business Officer:
BA or MA Degree in Economics, Management, Accounting, or related business disciplines
Experience
- Banking Business Officer I:
Minimum of 2 years of branch banking experience, including at least 1 year as a junior officer - Senior District Banking Business Officer:
At least 4 years of banking operations experience, with 2 years at officer or senior officer level in branch banking - Principal District Banking Business Officer:
3 years (MA) or 5 years (BA) of banking operations experience, including 2 years as a senior officer in branch banking
Technical Skills
- Strong sales and marketing capabilities
- Knowledge of interest-free banking products and services
- Proficiency in core banking applications
- Understanding of banking operations and internal control systems
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Coordination and facilitation skills
- Coaching and mentoring capability for senior-level roles
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of interest-free banking (IFB) principles
- Ability to communicate in the local language of the duty station
