Position: Data Analytics Intern
The Data Analytics Intern will support the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team in strengthening data systems, dashboards, MEL Tech automation, and statistical analysis across Mercy Corps Ethiopia programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop dashboards and visualizations using Power BI and Tableau
- Support geospatial mapping using Tableau Desktop
- Assist MEL Tech platforms (CommCare, Azure, Power BI)
- Troubleshoot digital MEL systems
- Support data collection, cleaning, validation, and archiving
- Conduct statistical analysis (sample size estimation, trend analysis, insights)
- Ensure quality assurance of field data
- Support learning, reporting, and MEL documentation
Expected Deliverables
- Functional dashboards and visualization products
- Well‑designed geospatial maps
- Improved LMMS administration capacity
- Proficiency in CommCare and MEL Tech tools
- Ability to support quantitative analysis and trend identification
Learning Objectives
By the end of the internship, the intern will gain:
- Practical experience in data visualization (Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
- Skills in MEL Tech automation (CommCare, Azure, Power BI)
- Experience in data cleaning, analysis, and management
- Exposure to statistical analysis and insight generation
- Hands‑on experience in MEL systems and digital tools
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or Statistics
- Recent graduate (2025 or 2026) or currently enrolled (within 1 year)
- One recommendation letter confirming integrity and responsibility
- Strong interest in data analytics, MEL systems, and digital tools
- Basic familiarity with Excel, Power BI, Tableau (advantageous)
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
