About the Programme

The Ministry of Women & Social Affairs (MoWSA), in partnership with UN Women, UNFPA, the EU Delegation in Ethiopia, and the Spanish Cooperation Agency, is implementing the Joint Programme on Strengthening the Institutional Capacity of National Gender Machineries in Ethiopia (2025–2027).

This programme aims to:

  • Enhance gender planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting systems
  • Improve production, analysis, and use of gender statistics
  • Advance gender mainstreaming in national and regional programmes

Target institutions include MoWSA, BoWSAs in Afar, Amhara, Gambella, Somali, and Tigray, sectoral gender directorates, and statistical institutions.


Available Positions

  1. Senior Programme Coordinator
    • Responsibilities: Manage programme implementation, coordinate with UN partners and regional bureaus, organize meetings and field missions, track indicators, and prepare donor reports.
    • Qualifications: Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field; 8–12 years’ experience in programme coordination, gender equality, or social development; strong knowledge of national gender policies and international conventions.
  2. Finance Coordinator
    • Responsibilities: Oversee financial management, budgeting, expenditure tracking, donor compliance, reporting, audits, and payment processing. Provide financial guidance to programme teams and partners.
    • Qualifications: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics; 8–12 years’ experience in financial management (NGO/government preferred); strong knowledge of donor compliance and audit processes.
  3. Senior Sector Specific Technical Assistant
    • Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise in gender mainstreaming, support policy translation into programmes, deliver training for regional bureaus, and monitor sector‑specific programme implementation.
    • Qualifications: Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, or related discipline; 8–12 years’ technical experience in gender mainstreaming and programme support; strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
