About NEBE
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is an independent constitutional body established under Article 102 of the FDRE Constitution. Since its inception, NEBE has conducted five national elections, two local elections, and six referendums.
In 2019, reforms under Proclamation No. 1133/2019 reshaped NEBE’s governance structure, reducing the management board to five full‑time members serving six‑year terms. NEBE continues to strengthen its institutional capacity to ensure transparent, credible, and inclusive electoral processes.
