Ohio State Global One Health (GOHi), an affiliated entity of The Ohio State University, works on global health security projects, focusing on building laboratory, surveillance, and one health workforce capacity through training, applied research, and public health emergency response. In Ethiopia, GOHi collaborates with the Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus, universities, and research institutions.
Open Positions
1. Junior Logistics and Procurement Officer – Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s in Business Management, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, or related fields.
-
Minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
-
Training/experience in procurement of supplies, reagents, consumables, lab equipment, and customs clearance.
-
Knowledge of procurement regulations and donor-funded program policies.
Skills Required:
-
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
-
Excellent English communication skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
2. Accountant – Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in financial and accounting roles.
-
Experience with transaction accounting and administrative support.
Skills Required:
-
Proficiency with QuickBooks and MS Office Suite.
-
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and teamwork skills.
-
High confidentiality, integrity, and strong ethics.
3. Regional Global Health Security Advisor – Mekelle (with frequent travel)
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Master’s in Public Health, Field Epidemiology, Public Health Epidemiology, or related fields.
-
Minimum 6 years’ experience in Global Health Security projects, surveillance, and emergency preparedness.
-
Proven ability to collaborate with multi-partner consortia and build local capacity.
Technical Expertise:
-
Infectious disease control, epidemiology, and large health program management.
-
Social & Behavioral Change, infection prevention, and emergency response.
-
Additional certifications in One Health, Health Security, or Emergency Management preferred.
4. Strategic Regional Director (SRD), Global One Health Eastern Africa – Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
-
MD required, with MPH/PhD or related advanced degrees.
-
8–12 years of global-level experience in health programming.
-
Proven expertise in maternal and child health.
-
Strong leadership and fundraising experience.
-
Prior work in international NGOs, academia, or global projects.
