Job Summary

A leading HVAC solutions provider is seeking a Sales & Support Engineer – HVAC to support sales growth, business development, technical sales, project follow-up, and customer relationships in Ethiopia.

The role focuses on commercial HVAC solutions, including RLC VRF systems, BSS commercial HVAC products, and other heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning solutions. The position involves working with consultants, contractors, developers, government entities, and end-users throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Promote and sell RLC VRF systems, BSS commercial HVAC products, and other HVAC solutions across Ethiopia.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with consultants, contractors, developers, government entities, and end-users.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to generate specifications and project opportunities.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets and support business growth.
  • Maintain an updated sales pipeline and project tracking system.
  • Conduct market visits and customer meetings to identify new opportunities.

Technical Support

  • Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
  • Prepare equipment selections, technical submittals, compliance statements, and product presentations.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support and recommend suitable HVAC solutions.
  • Coordinate with factories and product teams regarding technical clarifications and special requirements.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product training for consultants, contractors, and customers.
  • Support troubleshooting and technical issue resolution during project execution.

Project Management Support

  • Follow up on project approvals, consultant submissions, and order conversions.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, operations, and service teams to support project delivery.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and handover activities when required.
  • Monitor project milestones and provide regular updates to management.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Support customer satisfaction through effective communication and after-sales support.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key accounts and decision-makers.
  • Serve as the primary technical and commercial contact for assigned customers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 6–8 years of experience in HVAC sales and technical support.
  • Proven experience with RLC VRF systems, BSS commercial HVAC products, and commercial/applied HVAC solutions.
  • Experience in project sales, consultant engagement, and contractor management.
  • Experience handling large commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use development projects.
  • Experience in the East African or Ethiopian market is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Ethiopia.

Key Competencies and Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of VRF systems and commercial HVAC applications.
  • Understanding of HVAC design principles, load calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC products, including:
    • VRF systems
    • AHUs
    • FCUs
    • Ventilation systems
    • Packaged units
    • Split and ducted systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems.
  • Strong technical sales, communication, customer relationship, and business development skills.
