Job Summary
The Program Coordinator is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and supporting patients in need of cleft lip and palate surgery across Ethiopia. This role oversees the full patient journey—from identification and screening through surgery and post‑operative follow‑up—ensuring high‑quality care, accurate recordkeeping, and compassionate support. The position also involves program administration, budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting, while collaborating with government agencies, partner hospitals, and local health facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and mobilize cleft lip and palate patients nationwide in line with Samaritan’s Purse and partner hospital guidelines.
- Manage patient expectations and maintain accurate records, including medical evaluations and pre/post‑operative documentation.
- Develop and implement patient mobilization and community sensitization strategies.
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Health, partner hospitals (e.g., CURE), and local health facilities.
- Recruit, train, and supervise patient navigators to support beneficiaries.
- Coordinate patient logistics (transportation, lodging, meals, registration).
- Ensure pre‑surgical requirements are met (malaria testing, Hb checks, weight criteria).
- Develop annual budgets, monitor financial reports, and submit Program Activity Reports (PARS).
- Implement post‑operative follow‑up plans, including phone calls and home visits.
- Monitor for complications and coordinate appropriate care/referrals.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education: BSc in Nursing with active practice license.

Experience: 4–5 years in cleft care, surgical programs, or health systems strengthening.

Languages: Proficiency in English and Amharic; knowledge of regional languages required; additional national languages are a plus.

Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with marginalized and at‑risk populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection tools (e.g., DHIS2).
- Analytical, problem‑solving, and networking abilities.
- Flexibility to work in dynamic, field‑based environments.
