Internship Overview

The Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub is UNDP’s central platform for advancing systems transformation, digital public infrastructure, and innovation. Interns will contribute to projects that combine global expertise with local insights to deliver future‑ready development solutions.

This internship is not just a routine placement—it reflects how digital transformation and AI are reshaping global development. For Ethiopian graduates and young professionals, opportunities like this highlight the importance of data‑driven decision making and inclusive innovation in tackling challenges such as climate change, governance, and poverty reduction. Duties & Responsibilities

Interns may support UNDP in one or more of the following areas:

• Systems Transformation & Innovation: Research, policy design, and knowledge sharing.
• Programme Delivery & Capacity Building: Toolkits, training materials, and webinars.
• Data Policy & Governance: Research on data protection, governance frameworks, and digital rights.
• Data Analytics & Insights: Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing datasets; dashboards and visualizations.
• Partnerships & Strategic Communications: Outreach, drafting proposals, and producing content.
• Product Design & AI Tools: Supporting design, testing, and implementation of digital products.
• Research & Knowledge Management: Maintaining UNDP knowledge platforms and drafting summaries.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Policy, or related fields.
• Strong interest in digital transformation, AI, and innovation.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
